Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic IT Support Technician with commercial experience working in a helpdesk or support role. The successful candidate will be hard working, self-motivated and proactive, with strong troubleshooting abilities and dedication to seeing problems through to resolution. The successful IT Support Technician will be adaptable and willing to learn new skills, as well as being a team player who works well with others and is focused on achieving team goals in addition to personal goals.

The IT team provide a wide variety of technical services to support our staff and deliver a five star experience to our guests. This is an excellent opportunity to learn from our experienced team members, improve existing IT knowledge and acquire new technical skills.

The role is primarily office-based in Cheddar, Somerset, but some travel to other sites will be required from time to time using a company vehicle. A full driving license is essential.

Outline of key duties:
  • Provide IT Support to company employees, by phone, email and face to face
  • Create and maintain user accounts and mailboxes
  • Diagnose and resolve software and hardware faults
  • Manage and maintain IT systems across the group
  • Liaise with 3rd parties where required to ensure issues are resolved
  • Involvement in projects to improve the group IT systems and procedures

  • To succeed in this role you will need to have some experience with most of the following:
  • Windows Desktop and Windows Server operating systems
  • PCs, laptops, mobile phones
  • Call logging systems
  • Fault diagnosis, investigation and resolution
  • Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange
  • DNS, DHCP, Group Policy
  • Microsoft Office suite
  • Ethernet networking and TCP/IP
  • Printers & print servers
  • File Systems, NTFS, AD Security
  • Anti-virus and security management

  • Experience with the following would also be beneficial:
  • Citrix XenApp or RDS
  • Large scale wifi deployments
  • iOS/MacOS
  • Telephone systems
  • Structured cabling
  • Routers and firewalls
