Things to do on the Isle of Wight

The Isle of Wight is a simply stunning part of the country and Woodside Coastal Retreat serves as the perfect base from which to enjoy this region. The park itself is situated close to the harbour town of Cowes, which is home to the world’s oldest regatta. It also plays host to the world famous annual Cowes week which is usually held in the first week of August. Having started in 1826, it is one of the longest running regattas in the world and is a must see event with 40 races each day featuring up to 1,000 boats.

Also in close proximity to Woodside Coastal Retreat is Ryde, which is a stunning coastal area ideal for scenic walks and bike rides. In fact, almost half of the Isle of Wight is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty so you will have plenty of locations to explore and admire around the retreat.

There are a large number of historic buildings and museums in the area to take in during your visit, including the stunning Bembridge Windmill which is the last remaining Windmill on the Isle of Wight.

We are delighted to have received the 5 star Gold Award from Visit England Quality in Tourism 2015.

  • We have just returned from our holiday at this resort. The only thing that we could complain about was the Great British weather, but I am sure if the staff could have changed that for us they would have! The lodges more than exceeded our expectations and the staff were friendly, helpful with nothing being to much trouble. I would highly recommend the coastal retreat it is exactly what it says it was and we will certainly be...
