The local area boasts a number of attractions, including the Rosemary Vineyard, ‘Osborne’ – the historical mansion and former home of Queen Victoria, a number of beautiful walks along the Isle of Wight Coastal Path, a 70 mile circular path providing an amazing way to see the island. The island is a paradise for those who enjoy outdoor activities, with a vast range of walks, cycle routes, hikes and kayaking events and clubs organised across the area.
The historic shipping town of Cowes is just a short distance from the resort and is home to a number of stunning beaches and the world’s biggest sailing regatta known as ‘Cowes Week’. Ryde is also close by and is a vibrant harbour town which is frequented by ferries and hovercrafts. Boasting a range of restaurants and well known eateries, it’s a fantastic place for those who love sea food!
The retreat is tranquil and peaceful; secluded by the beautiful woodland trees. However whilst the surroundings may make it feel like you’ve stepped back in time and away from the stresses and worries of everyday life, the luxury accommodation and onsite facilities offer everything in terms of modern comfort and convenience. The facilities on the resort include an air conditioned gymnasium complete with a range of free weights and cardiovascular machines, and a luxurious spa lodge which provides a number of blissful Aromatherapy Associates treatments which include wraps, massages and hydrating facials.
Finally, the Kellermans Restaurant provides a fine dining experience in stunning surroundings. With beautiful sailing-themed interior design which includes a central wood burner with aesthetic chimney stack and a range of sophisticated finishing touches to produces a luxurious ambience and help to create a vibrant atmosphere thanks to the interesting décor which includes sailing rope & buoy style furniture and decorations – attractive, quirky and also interesting talking points for our guests.
New for 2017 there is also ‘The Braai’ – a South African styled BBQ located outside in the summer months - serves up a range of exotic burgers, steaks and curries. Also starting in the summer of 2017 is the new Pizza Alfresco menu which provides a range of ‘wood fired’ pizzas in stunning grounds at Woodside Bay.

Such is the popularity of the onsite restaurant that in 2017, the eatery has been expanded to cater for its popularity and now features The Braai as well as a new Pizza Alfresco menu and fire pit. It is due to the success of the retreat and the popularity of the current restaurant that the demand for high quality onsite dining options has increased. This has created a number of exciting opportunities for catering staff at the resort.
Whether you are a student looking to gain some work experience as a kitchen assistant on a part time basis, or an experienced Sous Chef looking to take your career to the next level with the retreat’s parent company Darwin Escapes; we’d love to hear from all enthusiastic chefs, cooks and those looking for entry level work.
