Explore North Wales from Talacre Beach Resort
Talacre Beach Resort is ideally located in an area which is rich with culture, attractions and scenic natural wonders. It is also positioned perfectly with easy access to the major roads which lead to these attractions.
Talacre & Talacre Beach
Of course, you don’t have to travel far to find a popular tourist attraction. The resort is located in the traditional British seaside village of Talacre with a range of gift shops, pubs, bakery’s and arcades available as you would expect. We also have our own Fish & Chip shop available on park in keeping with the seaside feel.
This whole area is based around the golden sands of Talacre Beach, which is home to a renowned 17th Century Lighthouse. This is a great location for scenic walks, paddling in the sea or even a bit of sunbathing (weather permitting). Talacre beach is easily accessible from our resort.
Llandudno & the Great Orme
Another great tourist destination in the region is Llandudno, where you can take a stroll along the historic pier or explore the extensive shopping district.
You can also explore the Great Orme from here, which is home to the only remaining cable driven Tramway in the United Kingdom. Take a ride on the tram all the way to the peak of the Great Orme and find your way back down using the cable cars which offer stunning coastal views of the region.
On the Great Orme you will also partake in a spot of skiing, with the dry sky slope which offers adrenalin seekers the chance to brush up on their skills, or even start learning to ski in a safe environment. Running around this, is the longest toboggan run in Wales, which must be experienced.
A short drive from the resort is the Welsh Mountain Zoo, which is a bit of a hidden gem of the region and is not highly advertised, but offers the opportunity for countless family days out with 37 acres of animals and child friendly attractions.
Here you can be able to gaze at the glorious Lions & Tigers, admire the Red Panda’s, interact with the Lemurs or watch the sea lions perform with the keepers in a number of daily performances. There is also the Penguin Parade which is a must see!
If you want to really push the boat out, you can also arrange for an Animal Encounter where you will get to meet and feed an animal of your choice.
Chester Zoo is also within driving range of the resort, with the destination having been named as the best zoo in the UK in a recent survey by TripAdvisor. With over 422 different species of animal on park, it is easy to understand why.
Things to do in North Wales
There are also numerous sites of historic interest in an area which has a rich cultural heritage. This includes the stunning Conwy castle, as well as other must see castles and stately homes in Bodelwyddan, Flint and Rhuddlan.
Another great family friendly destination is Greenfield Valley where you can explore the ancient ruins, take advantage of the children’s play area and feed the farm animals.
Shopaholics are also in luck, with there being numerous popular shopping destinations within driving distance of the resort. Including the ever popular Chester, Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet and also a newly constructed shopping destination, slightly closer to home, in the up and coming town of Prestatyn.
