We have just returned from a 4 night break at the Seaview Park near Talacre in N Wales. We had a bit of a mixed bag to be honest. On arrival we arrived at our Caravan to find that there were no Towells, and the welcome pack was not present. We contacted receotion to be told that Towells are not supplied in Caravans, however when it was shown that Hoseasons list towells as part of the holiday package, the staff duly delivered the towells, along with some other items of equipment which should have been placed in the caravan formour arrival. We were the first people in this caravan, and clrearly it had not been prepped properly, there were several screws lying on the outside veranda, several strips of protective film which protect the caravan in transit had been semi removed, there was still foam packing on the patio door handles. We noticed on the forst morning after we had used the shower that the boiler was running all the time, making an annoying whining noise. When we looked outside there was red hot water running out from underneath the shower, requiring an engineer to visit. When we arrived it had been raining, and the sleepers around the step to the Caravan were lethal, more slippery than ice, as we found out …. fortunately no damage done! There was a leak in the toilet so we kept having to mop up the excess water. There was a lack of certain basic items e.g no toilet brushes, no bin in the kitchen, no coasters etc for the cups, there was a full length mirror, however it was stashed in a wardrobe as obviously they hadn’t had time to fit it for whatever reason. The washing machine didnt work – though it had been connected the taps had not been turned on, easily rectified, but it should have been ready for use. The light over the dining table would not switch on, The wifi was very patchy and fairly dysfunctional most the time, but it isnt an issue for us as we dont go on holiday to surf the web, but dont expect too much from it. The impression we got was that the Caravan had not been set up properly at all. Having said all that the problems which we did have were rectified quickly, and the staff really tried hard to sort out the issues, and were helpful, and courteous. I think they were also dealing with the after effects of the recent freezing weather which had caused havoc with caravan plumbing. The park itself was really nicely kept, and apart from the issues above really wouldnt have any negative feedback at all. The park is about 2miles from the beach, but I walked it in about 25 mins with no issues. There are plenty of places to go round about. The Park was very peaceful, which is the number one requirement for us, but there were only a few vans in use. The view from the Park is very nice. I reckon we just booked the wrong day to be honest, and if we were to go back again would not experience the same issues again. All in all the caravan was very nice, beds were very good. The only thing I would say is that there is very little storage / shelving in the caravan which is a pain, and if there were 4 or 5 in it, it would be very cramped I think, it isnt a caravan which is generous with space. There are some nice features, bedroom sockets have usb integral to them – good for charging the phones etc. Heating was first class and the caravan was very warm. TV has freeview, but there is no DVD etc, however there are several hdmi cables with nothing connected to them. We put hdmi into the pc and used it as a dvd player through the TV. Whilst we did have issues, I want to be fair to the staff and say that they worked hard to sort out the issues, and you cannot really ask for more than that, the impression we got is that they genuinely want to to create a good expereince for the customers. The bottom line question is would we return? I wouldnt fancy it in the high season, but that is my preference, but certainly we would look to revisiting maybe in the autumn.
