One of the most frequent questions we get asked is “How long will my lodge last?” – Subject to normal maintenance, we would expect your lodge to last, literally, a lifetime.
All our lodges are built in the UK and have been constructed in order to ensure ultra low maintenance and durability without compromising the longevity of the lodge’s aesthetic appearance and performance.
Subject to simple maintenance such as keeping rainwater guttering clear of debris, our lodges are capable of lasting quite literally a lifetime. Warranties often include:
- 40 year roof warranty
- 15 year warranty on cladding
- 10 year insurance backed Gold Shield Warranty
- 10 year warranty on all Decking
- 10 year frame, 5 year window furniture and 10 year glazed units
- Various warranty periods with appliances; A, AA or even AAA rated appliances are fitted as standard
All our lodge holiday homes at Cheddar Woods are high quality modular type homes. The lodges are effectively timber frame homes on steel frames; the building is made in either one or two modular parts off site in factory conditions and are all constructed to surpass British Building Regulation BS3632. They are then transported to site and maneuvered into position.
The construction includes external “Canexel” cladding (Canexel is an eco-friendly wooden product made from wood pulp, wood fibre & wood wax. It is ultra low maintenance, doesn’t need painting and lasts for decades) and coloured Fensa regulation residential uPVC energy efficient windows. Internally dry lined internal stud walls offer superb sound and heat insulation.
Outside; every lodge has its own decking that is constructed from galvanised steal that is then finished with a PVC wrap. All decking boards used are extruded using the latest high quality and high performance anti-slip composites, and each lodge has its very own block paved driveway right outside.
