Can we use bikes around the park?
Please follow the same strict rules you would outside the park. We strongly advise that, for your protection, if you or any member of your family or guests use or ride bicycles, skateboards, scooters or heelies; please wear helmets and reflective clothing.
Holiday Break Questions
Can I bring our dog?
Yes. Let us know when booking your holiday that you will be bringing a pet and we can accommodate in our pet friendly accommodation on park.

What can I expect in my lodge?
Internally all of our lodges are designed to the highest of standards although specific interior details and features could differ from lodge to lodge. For a more detailed specification of each interior please view our individual accommodation pages.
What is there to do near Cheddar Woods?
There is a wide range of activities and sights to enjoy near Cheddar Woods from the world famous Cheddar Gorge to quaint market towns nearby. For some inspiration for your holiday break please visit our Local Area page.
What time is check in at Cheddar Woods?
Check in at Cheddar Woods Resort & Spa in from 4pm for all non elegance accommodation. If you anticipate arriving late to the resort please call reception on 01934 742610 and we can arrange details for the collection of your accommodation keys.
Can I get a mortgage on a lodge?
No. As they are sold with a licence as opposed to a lease you cannot secure a mortgage on our lodge holiday homes. Other finance packages are available.
Can I rent my lodge out?
Yes, as a lodge owner you may choose to put your lodge into our fully flexible and fully managed letting scheme to generate an income when you and your friends and family aren’t making use of it.
Do you take touring caravans or motorhomes in part exchange?
Yes, part-exchange packages are available regardless of your tourer’s age or condition. We can even offer part-exchange packages with an existing static caravan or lodge that is sited on another company’s holiday park.
How long can I keep my lodge at Cheddar Woods?
All of our new lodges come with a 30 year licence.
How long will my lodge last?
Subject to simple maintenance such as keeping rainwater guttering clear of debris, our lodges are capable of lasting quite literally a lifetime. All our lodges are built in the UK and have been constructed in order to ensure ultra low maintenance and durability without compromising the longevity of the lodge’s aesthetic appearance and performance.
Is it easy to get finance on a lodge?
Yes. From just a 20% cash deposit we can (subject to status) offer very competitive fixed rate finance packages which can be taken out over terms as long as 15 years.
What are the site fees?
Annual park fees range from £5645, subject to location and size of lodge. You can find out more about our park fees here.
What if I want to sell my lodge in the future?
You may sell your lodge should you wish to, providing the persons that you sell to are buying the lodge for holiday use and not residential use. You can sell your lodge privately or instruct an estate agent, although the whole process of selling your lodge must go through Cheddar Woods Resort & Spa.
How do I get to Cheddar Woods?
Cheddar Woods is located just off the A371 near the Cheddar Reservoir. If you’re traveling from the North then take the M5 South just past Weston-Super-Mare. If you’re coming from the South then head for the A37 until Shepton Mallet.
How far is it to Cheddar Gorge?
We are ideally located close to some of the best Somerset attractions. Cheddar Gorge is 2 miles East from the park, around 5 minutes by car.
How many lodges are there at Cheddar Woods?
We currently have 177 lodges at Cheddar Woods Resort & Spa, all of which are thoughtfully placed and positioned.
Is Cheddar Woods open all year?
No. Cheddar Woods is open 11 months of the year as we are a non-residential holiday park.
Is Cheddar Woods Wheelchair Friendly?
Cheddar Woods Access Statement
Cheddar Woods Resort & Spa is set in a pleasant partially wooded safe environment with soft and hard landscaped grounds as well as open areas which gives good separation between vehicular and pedestrian traffic.
Pedestrian access through the park is by way of wide flat footpaths or alternatively quiet roadways provide easy direct access although the main road route does have a small gradient and some pedestrian areas are cobble effect although do not normally create any obstruction.
Good low and high level lighting around the park in the evening. There are large car park areas with some designated parking for disabled.
Most caravans have up to three steps to enter the accommodation but some units are specialist disabled accessible and others offer ramp access only. Service dogs are welcome.
The leisure facilities have wide access suitable for wheelchairs, have toilet facilities suitable for wheelchair access. The swimming pool has a designated large changing facility and access to low level lockers, access to the pool is by 6 small steps or a hoist is available.
The remainder of the complex is accessible for wheel chair users and offers accommodating staff who are available to assist at all times. The reception desk has information on local attraction and transport suitable for the disabled, has lowered desk areas and is easily accessible for wheelchair users.

What happened to Broadway House?
Broadway House underwent a complete redevelopment in 2013 to become Cheddar Woods Resort & Spa.
What is Darwin Escapes’ Dog Policy?
We’re pet-friendly, but do have a few rules to ensure the park can be enjoyed by pet-owners and non-pet-owners alike.
We ask that no dogs, pets, or animals of any kind may occupy a non pet unit without the prior permission of the Park Manager. (This can be achieved by including your pet on your booking form to ensure you are allocated a pet-friendly unit).
a. Where allowed, all pets must at all times be kept under proper control and must not enter any facility building. (excluding guide dogs)
b. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times (unless in the dedicated dog areas) and prevented from fouling.
c. All fouling should be disposed of immediately in an appropriate manner.
d. In accordance with the Dangerous Dog Act 1991, the following breeds of dog are not permitted anywhere on the park at any time: Pit-bull Terrier Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, Fila Braziliero as well as any other breed at the Park Manager’s discretion.
What time does the Eden Spa open?
Eden Spa is open from 9am until 5pm everyday with the exception of Sunday where availability is between 10am and 6pm.
What time does the gym open?
Our gym is open all year round from 8am to 10pm.
What time does the pool open?
In our peak season our pool is open from 8am until 6pm with late night swim sessions available on Wednesdays until 7:30pm. In off peak our pool is open from 9am until 5pm with late night swim sessions available on Thursday until 7pm.
