A wealth of beautiful countryside to explore
One of our focuses whilst redeveloping Cheddar Woods in 2013 was to maintain and conserve the natural environment in which Cheddar Woods is situated. To this end, we have styled our park complex and each of our lodges to blend in perfectly with the charming surrounding woodland and lakes.
Comfortably nestled amongst the woodlands in the Mendip Hills, Cheddar Woods sits just below the luscious forests of Cheddar with incredible views out over the Mendip Hills, rolling down to the Cheddar Reservoir.
During redevelopment, we also strived to keep as much of the natural environment and materials as possible. Our careful planning meant that as many of the original trees and shrubs as possible were kept and built in to the redesign, to preserve the teeming local wildlife. To support this, we also replanted an array of natural wildflower beds to stimulate bird and butterfly wellbeing. Our ‘insect hotel’ provides accommodation for our smaller guests, providing a hospice all year round.
When you visit, you will see that each of our plots has been customised to ensure that we have kept as many natural lines in keeping with our design. Each plot features an extremely generous amount of green space, complete with areas of natural beauty scattered across our park.
