Historic Castles

Conwy Castle North Wales

Discover vast history at Conwy Castle

There is no shortage of castles in the North Wales area and Conwy Castle is considered to be amongst the finest surviving medieval fortifications in Britain. With eight massive towers and a great bow-shaped hall, all within its distinctive elongated shape sitting high up on a bed of rock this is a magnificent sight to behold! You can also visit the Dolwyddelan Castle, dating back to the 1200’s, which Llywelyn the Great is said to have built. For the more active types why not take a walk up the Great Orme and enjoy the views of Llandudno from above and on a particularly clear day you can see as far as the Lake District. If you don’t fancy a walk but still want to see the amazing views then just jump on the tramway and the cable car and sit back to enjoy the ride and scenery. Drop into the beautiful town of Llandudno and do a bit of shopping, grab a bite to eat or visit Venue Cymru and catch a show.
