Woodside Coastal Retreat – Isle of Wight

Both of our Woodside resorts are located on the east shores of the Island between Cowes and Ryde; a thriving area where you will find plenty of pet friendly things to do.

At both of our resorts you will be able to enjoy stunning scenic views of the surrounding area, with Woodside Coastal offering beautiful sea views and Woodside Bay being nestled in gorgeous woodland. You can enjoy the tranquil atmosphere and scenery at both of these resorts from your own holiday lodge which is packed full of luxuries to help you enjoy the perfect self catered holiday.

Some of our holiday lodges also come with their own hot tubs making it the ideal holiday park for romantic breaks on the Isle of Wight. Once you’ve had enough of soaking up the surroundings from your own private hot tub, you can retreat inside your lodge and enjoy the countless 21st century luxuries including widescreen TVs and iPod docking stations. All of our lodges also come with free Wi-Fi access.

There are a range of holiday lodges available which we can vary depending on the size of your holiday party and also your budget, with two to four bedroom lodges available. The duration of your stay can be between 3 days for short breaks, and 21 days for longer vacations.

When you stay at one of our Isle of Wight resorts, you can enjoy access to a Shingle Beach. This is ideal for both owner and pet, allowing your furry friend to be let off the leash to play along the shore. It is great for owners too, being a secluded sanctuary with stunning views where you can really unwind and escape from the stresses and strains of everyday life.

Woodside Bay Lodge Retreat – Isle of Wight

Woodside Bay Lodge Retreat is a brand new addition to our portfolio for 2016 and is located just down the road from its sister park Woodside Coastal Retreat. While Woodside Coastal is designed for tranquillity, Woodside Bay has a few more amenities on site including a stunning restaurant and bar.

Those staying at Woodside Bay can also take advantage of the on-site spa lodge where a range of treatments and therapies are on offer to help you feel rejuvenated after a long day out and about with your pet.

The amenities on offer in the holiday lodges are no different though, adhering to the high standards you would expect at any Darwin Escapes resort. The potential lengths of holiday are the same also, with both long and short pet friendly holidays in the Isle of Wight available.

Local Attractions

There are a number of local visitor attractions where pets are welcome. One of the most highly recommended is St. Catherine’s Oratory. This medieval tower was built in 1328 to serve as a lighthouse on the coast. It is a stunning historic construction, with various coastal walks nearby to take advantage of. It is noted that dogs must be kept on leads at all times here.

Another attraction where dogs are welcomed is Carisbrooke Castle which is close to Newport and at the very heart of the island’s history. This Motte and Bailey castle is believed to have been constructed in the 12th century and was the site where King Charles I was held captive prior to his trial in 1647. As well as the castle itself, there are is a fascinating museum on site and a number of entertaining events. Your dog can also be kept occupied on the various walking routes surrounding the castle.

With so much to do and see for both you and your pet in and around the area, our Woodside resorts really are the best place to stay for Isle of Wight dog friendly holidays.
