Key Responsibilities

  • Provide IT support to company employees by phone, email and face to face
  • Communicate effectively with team members, staff and third parties
  • Promote good practice in the use of IT hardware, software and security
  • Take a proactive approach to tackling problems, finding solutions and ensure all incoming IT support incidents are dealt with in a timely and effective manner
  • Keep an excellent record of incidents and works in the ticketing system and provide documentation where required
  • Develop familiarity with a wide variety of IT systems to provide support at all levels of the business
  • Visit remote sites when required to provide support, installations or implement solutions
  • Work closely with other members of the IT team to find suitable resolutions to issues
  • Perform occasional other tasks as and when requested to do so by the Head of IT

The IT department at Darwin Escapes has a vacancy available for an IT Helpdesk Technician to join their team.

Darwin Escapes is a fast growing company with various locations across the UK, and is still growing. The IT team currently play a key role within all of these parks by providing vital technical services. These services allow our staff to deliver the five star guest experience we strive for.

The role will primarily be based at Cheddar Woods Resort and Spa, in Somerset. However, you may occasionally be required to travel to other beautiful UK locations within our portfolio of holiday resorts.

A full UK driving licence is required, although a pool car will be available when required to travel.

The salary range for this job is £17,000 – £21,000, based on experience.

The IT Helpdesk Technician role is a permanent, full time position where you will be required to work weekdays, however please note that occasional weekend or evening work may be required.

This position is suitable for anyone looking for IT jobs within a commutable distance of Cheddar in Somerset.

What experience you will need

  • Experience in Citrix XenApp or Remote Desktop Services is an advantage but not essential
  • Some knowledge on basic networking and internet access
  • Fault diagnosis, investigation and resolution
  • Previous experience with PC's, laptops, mobile phones, printers and file permissions
  • Demonstrate ability to support Windows OS
  • Installing software, patches, updates on desktops and laptops
  • How to use MS Office software (365 desirable)
  • Hardware / software support

  • Proven ability to manage own time and prioritise tasks effectively
  • Maintain strong customer relations
