It’s A Pockout!
At: Pocklington Football Club Fields, YO42 2NZ
When: 28th August, 12noon – 5pm
A fantastic free family day out based on ‘It’s A Knockout’ (get what they did there?) Plenty of games, stalls, food and a beer tent for a fabulous day out and hosted by family favourite entertainer Keith Chegwin! The events are raising funds for a number of local charities, make sure to have a go at the amazing inflatable assault course with your chosen team!
Medieval Hands-on History
At: Scarborough Castle, YO11 1RD

This is a fun family event on throughout the school holidays. The Hands-on Crew will have a range of medievally themed activities for you to try! Everything from dressing up and craft activities, to dancing and sword fights, there will be something for everyone at the beautiful historic castle.

An interactive and fun exhibition of Nick Sharratt’s illustrations, the man behind Jacquline Wilson’s stories, including the instantly recognisable Tracey Beaker. Explore his passion for drawing from childhood to internationally renowned illustrator and author. Immerse yourself in Nick’s world, including a recreation of Nick’s studio where visitors can have a go at drawing using a light box, as well as a touch screen interactive station where you can create your own digital character. A wipe clean wall is available for everyone to draw on and be inspired to draw and create, as well as a dressing up section with wacky costumes including mermaids tails and fancy pants!

Enjoy the adventure playground at Stockled throughout the summer holidays with activities including the outdoor inflatable zone, farmer foster’s adventure playground, a rural and farmyard themed area complete with hen house and tractor. Have a blast in the Buccaneer Boats and take an electrically powered spin on the lake in the Enchanted Forest. Take a roll around the outdoor rolling rink and follow the trail on the electric scooters. Test your skills on the Go Karts and don’t get lost in the maze! Explore the magical woodland of the Enchanted Forest, filled with mysterious characters and brand new for Summer 2017, the beautiful Tinkerdale fairy village, where the fairies spend their days creating mischief and mess, which fairy house is your favourite?

Enjoy all that Piglet’s Adventure Farm with lots of summer fun to be had, including foam at the farm parties every day from 4pm! Follow the brand new fairy trail to find the home of the magical fairies who will help you find your destiny, visit Hesta Honeysuckle and Gelina Goldfinch and all their friends! Enjoy a jaw-dropping show from the Magical Hatter with two daily shows until 11th August. Roll up to Fatt Matt’s Circus, with death defying stunts, acrobatics and upside-down juggling, you can watch two shows daily from 12th August until 3rd September. As well as water wars, tractor rides, go karts, a giant sandpit and the Bale Play Baaarn offering brand new activities with a shaded area including Piggy Poo Ice Cream and wood fired pizzas from the York Pizza Co.
I Heart The Deep
At: The Deep Aquarium, HU1 4DP

Known as one of the most spectacular aquariums in the world, The Deep offers daily talks and presentations, daily dive shows where you can watch the beautiful animals being fed in the Lagoon of Light, Amazon Flooded Forest and the Endless Oceans exhibits. Kids love the touch-pool sessions and handling some of the smaller species including starfish, velvet swimmer crabs and sea urchins, and test their skills on the interactive magic floor. See the penguins being hand-fed by the team every day and get creative with The Deep and celebrate Hull Cities Year of Culture. Join in at the craft corner and help to create a giant montage about your favourite thing in The Deep. Explore from the prehistoric seas, past tropical lagoons, into beautiful vast open oceans and the darkest depths.
Highwayman Dick is Back

One of the most popular attractions in York and The Highwayman is Back! Be wary of your journey with the Highwayman patrolling the area, step inside the carriage and hold on to your valuables as the vicious Dick Turpin is back! You’ll learn what punishments were for highway robbery, how Dick Turpin tortured his victims and what happens when you don’t do what he wants! You’ll feel like you’re travelling York in a horse and carriage at this brand-new attraction, expect surprises and scares!
