Poole, Dorset offers a full programme of events for Halloween 2017, from parties to craft inspired activities, there will be something for everyone in and around the local area! Wareham Forest offers luxurious accommodation to retire back to when you’ve had a full day exploring and discovering the local area.

Halloween Fun

Where: Monkey World / When: 31st Oct / Times: 10am – 4pm

Visit these playful primates this Halloween and if your little one goes in fancy dress they’ll get in for free! Enter into the fancy dress competition and win a fabulous prize, the activity centre will be open and ready to entertain and educate! Home to 250 rescued and endangered animals, you can learn more about these beautiful and fascinating primates, while having some fangtastic fun!

Halloween Half Term

Where: Forde Abbey / When: 21st – 29th Oct / Times: 10am – 4:30pm

Visit this 900 year old abbey and it’s beautiful ground this Halloween half term for spooky happenings. Explore the haunted trail, have a go at pumpkin rolling and get stuck in with hands-on Halloween crafts, with ghostly bites and treats to keep you fuelled at The Tea Rooms.

The Great Half Term Dinosaur Hunt

Where: The Dinosaur Museum / When: 21st – 29th Oct / Times: 10am – 4pm

Spreading throughout the whole attraction, the fantastic hunt brings the museum alive, searching for the missing dinosaurs and solving the clues and puzzles, earning a Dinosaur Hunter’s medal! Search through the skeletons, fossils and plenty of interactive displays on your way to solving the dinosaur mystery.

Halloween Week

Where: Studland Bay / When: 21st – 29th Oct / Times: 10:30am – 3:30pm

Visit the beautiful Studland Bay and follow the spooky Halloween Trail over the stunning sandy beach and heathland. There will also be an array of seasional crafts to get involved in over the week too. On the 27th October, take to the beach after dark at 6:30pm for a Halloween event filled with mulled cider and delicious sausage casserole.

October Half Term

Where: The Tank Museum / When: 20th – 28th Oct / Times: 10am – 5pm

Filled with family activities, tank action and vehicle rides, The Tank Museum offers one of the best days out this Halloween half term. Discover the 8 huge exhibitions, including the tank story, the trench experience, all about the Second World War and learn all about the hidden heroes in Tank Men. There is also an outdoor play area and indoor soft play area for the little ones to enjoy, as well as a free family trail filled with teasers and puzzles to enjoy!

October Half Term

Where: Brownsea Island / When: 20th – 28th Oct / Times: 10am – 4pm

Brownsea Island will be hosting various spooky events all throughout the October half term, where you can brave all the giant spiders, skeletons and ghosts inside the creepy copse. Take part in the fun activities at the Witch’s Corner in the Visitor Centre everyday at 10am, or join in with the fun outdoor activities on throughout the week, including low ropes and archery, or maybe you’d like to become an expert on the Red Squirrel and join in with the Family Red Squirrel Walks where you’ll find out what they eat and how they go about their days!

Haynes Halloween Trail

Where: Haynes International Motor Museum / When: 27th Oct – 4th Nov / Times: 9:30am – 5pm

Haynes International Motor Museum offers a family fun day out and this Halloween half term is the best time to visit! The ghosts have moved in to Haynes, you’ll get to meet all the ghouls on your journey through the museum looking at the beautiful cars on show, where you can follow the trail to hunt down the pumpkins hidden all around the cars and bikes, and you’ll also learn some fascinating Halloween facts on your journey!

Dorchester Literary Festival

Where: Dorset County Museum / When: 17th – 21st Oct / times vary on event

The Dorset scenery has inspired many famous authors, including Tom Hardy and Tracey Chevalier (who is the patron of the festival). The Dorchester Literary Festival is 5 days filled with fun and endless chances to hear your favourite author talk, from crim writer Minette Walters and Royal biographer Penny Junor, to Cricket commentator Henry Blofeld and comedian Christopher Biggins.
