What Really Happens on a Park Tour?

Date: 22nd May 2018
Author: Sarah Twist
Publisher: Darwin Escapes

A park tour can be a bit of a mystery if you’ve never been on one before, so we’ve put together this post for you…

Buying a holiday home can seem an intimidating process but it doesn’t need to be, there are really only 3 key things to take into consideration: your budget, distance from your house and what park is right for you. And the only way to be sure the park is perfect for you is to see it yourself, and that’s all a park tour is, making sure you’ll be happy creating memories here.

There is no pressure to purchase your holiday home on the park tour, and you can come back as many times as you like to make sure we’re a right fit for you (or even to just say hi!). Darwin Escapes has 8 unique locations around the UK offering ownership, but the park tour process is the same at all of them.

What to do before you visit

The best tip we have is to create a short list of what you’ll be looking for when wandering around the park, we would suggest having an idea of the following:

  • Location of park (what’s in the local area)
  • Are you looking for facilities? What facilities are available?
  • Is the park geared towards families or couples? Which would suit your needs?
  • How far from the local area are you?
  • What’s the distance from your house?
  • Are the right plots available for you?
  • How much are site fees? Can you afford them every year?

If you have any questions about what you think should be on your list ask our team members, they will be helpful, professional and honest, they want you to be happy and content in your purchase.

The Park Tour Process

The tour will be tailored to your needs and there really is no pressure to purchase. The tour starts in the sales office, where you will probably have a cup of tea, get to know the team and have a chat about what is it generally you are looking for and a rough idea of budget. Then you’ll head out to walk the park, if you struggle to walk far, no problems, let our team know and they’ll find transport for the tour (our buggies are such a fun way to see the park!)

While on the tour keep in mind:

  • Is the lifestyle what you’re looking for?
  • Does it match your list of wants/needs?
  • Do you get the ‘right’ feeling? (similar to buying a house, you should get an excited feeling while walking the park)
  • Can you see yourself and family/friends enjoying the park?

Once the tour is over you’ll sit down for a chat, and this can be where ever you’re comfortable, whether it’s in the office, having a drink in the lounge area of the bar/restaurant, or even at the park if your children are a bit restless and you want to take in some sun.

What happens after?

If you decide you aren’t sure and would like to think about it a litte more, no worries. Go home and take some time to have a think about what worked and envision your lifestyle with us, then give us a call or pop in when you know if we’re the right choice.

If we aren’t what you’re looking for, no problems. We want you to be happy in your holiday home purchase, let our team know what you’re looking for and they may be able to suggest a place perfect for your needs.

And if you love us? Fantastic! This where the excitement starts, you’ll talk to our team member about the right size holiday home for you, this will include the right budget and don’t forget to take into consideration visiting family and friends (they’re sure to want to join in on the fun too!). Then you’ll look at different plots available on the park and choose your location, before finally financing your purchase, and be sure to ask about finance options as our team can put you in contact with financial advisers who will help you spread the cost should you need to.

From the point of making the decision we are right for you, you could be moving into your holiday home within 2 weeks! (How exciting!)

So now you know the process of the park tour, it’s less intimidating right? It’s all about making sure that you’re happy with the park and we’re the right fit for what you need.

Darwin Escapes are lucky enough to have 8 ownership destinations around the UK, from North Wales and Dorset to Somerset, Devon and Cornwall. Our locations range from family orientated holiday parks to luxurious spa break destinations, so we are sure to have the right fit for your needs.
