Darwin Escapes HQ love a good Comic Con, we’ve got the ultimate Comic Con 2018 UK list, including nearby accommodation!

Comic Con events are becoming more and more popular, with big movie and TV stars from sci-fi, fantasty and the comic world attending to meet delighted fans. The UK Comic Con 2018 calendar is looking fantastic, from annual events to brand new events all over the country.
We’ve got a list of all the major (and a few minor) Comic Cons in the UK for 2018, with nearby accommodation, prices and details, if you fancy making the trip to see some awesome art!


Bath Comic Con

When: Saturday 17th March / Times: 10am-5pm / Where: Bath Pavilion / Prices: £16 Family, £7 Adult, £4 Child (weekend tickets)
Bath’s very first comic con is be held at the Bath Pavilion, where you’ll be able to meet actors from both TV and film franchises, including Game of Thrones and Harry Potter! There will be a plethora of memorabilia stalls to stroll around, looking for that hidden treasure or next big thing in the comic book world, as well as a fabulous Cosplay Competition, so make sure to don your favourite cosplay suit and see what you can win! There will be so much going on at the Bath Comic Con 2018 that you won’t know what to do with yourself!

Medway Comic & Screen Festival

When: 24th – 25th March / Time: 9.30am-5pm / Where: Medway Park, Gillingham, Kent / Prices: £65 Family, £20 Adult, £14 Child (weekend tickets)
Packed with guests from the TV, movies and comic world, you can get up close and personal with fantastic actors and epically talented artists. There will also be memorabilia stalls to browse. Headliner Stefan Kopicc, who played Clossus from the epically popular Deadpool movie, will be in attendance all weekend, with plenty of time for you to have a quick chat and maybe a selfie (check prices) of this popular actor.

Sci-Fi Scarborough

When: 21st – 22nd April / Times: 10am-5pm / Where: Scarborough Spa / Prices: £25 Adult, £10 Child (weekend tickets)
Back for its 5th year, Sci-Fi Scarborough is sure to please and delight all! With fabulous screen actors, including R2-D2 to meet and get a photo op with, as well as talented comic book artists to meet and marvel at their work. Brian Muir, legendary prop sculptor of Darth Vader’s helmet, will also be in attendance with examples of his jaw-dropping work. There will also be a cosplay competition to join in on and plenty of trading stalls to wander around too, a weekend of fun at this 2018 comic con.

Wrexham Comic Con

When: 21st – 22nd April / Times: 10am-5pm / Where: Glyndwr University / Prices: £35 Adult, £15 Under 15’s (weekend tickets)
Celebrate pop culture at the Wales Comic Con 2018, meet TV and movie actors, as well as talented comic book artists and even sports personalities. Guests will include Mark Sheppard, of Supernautral fame (playing Crowley, King of Hell), Rachel Leigh Cook and James Marsters, known as Spike from Buffy. Frankie Muniz from Malcom in the Middle will also be in attendance, as well as John Rhys-Davies from Lord of the Rings fame. There will be a plethora of trading stalls to trawl through, finding the hidden gems or the next big thing to take your fancy, as well as a cosplay competition to join in on! Enjoy a weekend of pop culture at this amazing comic con festival in North Wales.

Margate Comic Art Festival

When: 14th – 15th April / Times: 10am-5pm / Where: Winter Gardens / Prices: £30 Adult, £8 Child (weekend tickets)
The first ever festival of its kind in Margate for comic fans to enjoy! Celebrating the talented artists from international publishers like Marvel and DC Comics, there will be writers and artists galore, including people from the Avengers, Star Wars, X-Men, Batman and Suicide Squad. There will also be a selection of independent artists and publishers so you can search out those amazing hidden gems and meet the creators of the next big thing in the comic world! Meet Stephen B Scott who has illustrated Batman, X-Men Forever and Marvel Adventures Hulk among many more, there will also be Dan Abnett who has written on titles like Guardians of the Galaxy and Sinister Dexter. Emma Price will also be around to show her multidiscipline talent, having worked with Disney and Universal studios, as well as critically acclaimed Cy Havoc.

Portsmouth Comic Con

When: 5th – 6th May / Times: Sat, 10am-8pm. Sun, 10am-6pm / Where: Portsmouth Guildhall / Prices: £28 Adult, £8 Child (weekend tickets)
Visit Comic City for endless stores and hidden gems to discover, there will also be a various panels to watch, including a Star Wars panel and Dr Who panel to enjoy and ask questions at. There will also be a virtual reality zone to explore, an interactive zone to get stuck into the gaming world, as well as a wonder zone where you can marvel at the amazing displays, workshops and exhibitions of special FX. All this plus a cosplay competition to enjoy, a full weekend of delight ahead.

Isle of Wight Comic Con 2018

When: 20th – 21st Oct / Times: 10am-6pm / Where: Cowes Enterprise College / Prices: £22 Adult, £12 Child (weekend tickets)
Filled with film & TV, comic artists and traders, IOW Comic Con is starting its second year with a bang! Guests for 2018 include Jason Mewes, of Jay & Silent Bob, Sean Astin from The Goonies, Lord of the Rings and most recently Stranger Things 2. Joseph Pantoliano, of the Matrix, will be making an appearance, as well as Sylvester McCoy, from both Doctor Who and the Hobbit. The 2018 comic con will also be introducing the Island Con Indies, helping to promote actors, actresses, writers, publishers and independent film makers. The venue will also be filled with traders to browse through and purchase all the merchandise you wish!
