1. Woolacombe Sands (Ilfracombe)
One of Devon’s most loved beaches, and voted the best beach in Britain, offers three miles of wide sandy beaches and countless sand dunes along with numerous rock pools filled with marine life. Toilets with disabled access, restaurants, pubs, cafes and parking are all within close vicinity.
2. Saunton Sands (Braunton)
A three and a half mile epic stretch of golden sand. Saunton also offers some of the best surf in the country. Kite surfing, kayaking and paddle boarding are also prominent activities available at the beach. Facilities include a café, surf hire and lessons, a beach shop and great parking facilities.
3. Tunnels Beach (Ilfracombe)
Hand carved in the 1820s, the four tunnels provide a unique experience. The local communities developed the tunnels by hand and transformed the sleepy town into a tourist destination. It is an ideal location for children, rated the 3rd best beach in the UK for rock pooling in the UK by BBC Wildlife Magazine. Their indoor and outdoor facilities cater for most age groups with amusements comprising of ball pools, scramble nets and slides for year round fun! Both Woolacombe Sands and Tunnels Beach lie within a few miles of Beach Cove and can be accessed along the coastal path leading from Beach Cove to Tunnels Beach.
4. Croyde Bay (Croyde)
One of Devon’s most famous surf destinations with a lively beach-volleyball spot. Located next to the pretty village of Croyde, the beach attracts youngsters in their thousands every summer, ranging from amateur surfers to the pros.
