What is your favourite activity to instruct? And Why?
My favourite Activity has to be Archery. I love the competitiveness it brings and seeing families battle it out to be crowned Robin Hood! The look on guests faces when they hit a gold is amazing.
What is your favourite activity to do yourself? And Why?
My favourite part of my day as an instructor is building rapport with guests I meet on activities, and taking them again on further activities or just simply having a nice chat around park
What did it feel like to be nominated by your peers?
It feels amazing to have been nominated by my peers. The nominations are done by In2Action and based on our Operational Support Visits so it’s feels great to know I’m doing a good job. I’ve had the incredible opportunity with working with like-minded instructors and co workers and I feel honoured they selected me for this award.
What have you won?
I’ve won a glass trophy, a bottle of bubbly and a £100 in high-street vouchers!
What does it take to be a Go Active team member?
To become a great Go Active Team member, you always have to be up for a laugh and a play with the guests and your fellow instructors. It helps not worrying about looking silly and acting like a child! The key elements I believe that makes a great instructor is being a people person and having A LOT of patience. Planning and timing is crucial, treating everyone equal regardless of ability, and always throwing everything you have into instructing with a smile.
And Danny’s, very proud, manager, Craig Young had this to say about his lovely team member:
“I’ve had the pleasure of working with Danny for the past year, I can honestly say he is one of the best instructors I have worked with. You will always hear “Pirate Danny” before you see him and that’s what makes him stand out. The energy and enthusiasm he puts into every session is incredible. The rapport he builds with children and guests is second to none, he’s always the first face the children remember on returning visits. He is always around to lend out a hand and puts 100% into everything he does. Danny has put a lot of hard work in over the last year to get where he is now and our guests feedback reflects that. I am looking forward to see where Danny take’s his instructing next year, he’s a pleasure to watch and work with.”
So well done to Danny, all the hard work (lots of fun by the sounds of it!) does pay off! And Congratulations to Piran Meadows! Now is the perfect time to visit the award winning resort, and also Cheddar Woods to meet the award winning man, Danny himself!
Happy Adventuring Ladies and Gents!
