Newquay is a stunning place to visit at any time of year, and it is especially magical at Christmas

Piran Meadows is the Best in Britain 2015 award winner and a lovely, family-friendly place to visit; situated very close to Newquay, there is always something to do. With our amazing Go Active+ Programme, including archery, fencing and Body Zorbz, a large indoor heated swimming pool, gym facilities and our luxurious Serenity Spa it’s the perfect place for a family getaway.

Surrounded by beautiful meadows and woodland the scenery is stunning and becomes even more so during the winter months, as well as being very close the golden beaches of the lovely town of Newquay, spend some time here and see for yourself!

Christmas is magical, it can transform us back in time when we watch Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol on the TV (The Muppets version is my absolute favourite!) and the Truro Victorian Christmas Markets will make you feel like you’ve set foot in the story! Or pop along and enjoy Newquay’s traditional Christmas Markets, something for everyone this festive time of year!

If you just want the important information, scroll down to the need to know table below.

Newquay’s christmas markets

The centre of Newquay will turn into a winter wonderland this festive season, with local arts and craft stalls to find that handmade treasure for your loved one. Browse the stalls and see the amazing decorations on offer, don’t forget to try some baked goods, mulled wine and mince pies. Then pop on over to the Newquay’s only Santa’s Grotto, meet the big man himself and even some of his very helpful, and friendly elves.

Truro victorian christmas markets

With over 67 traders in attendance at the Victorian Christmas Market, this is the best place to find that new and fresh gift not seen on the high street. Having the great benefit of being housed in a huge heated marquee, this Christmas event attracts tens of thousands of visitors every year. Adding to the fun and festive spirit are the stall-holders, who are all dressed in Victorian clothing throughout the market, with the mayor of Truro judging the best costume and the best decorated stall! So you know they will go all out to win this competition, well worth a visit just for this. The stalls themselves hold plenty of homemade gifts, candles, jewellery, cheese and chocolate, with plenty of treasures to find too. There is large café and seating area within the marquee to have a sit down, cup of tea and a cake. Enjoy the very talented street performers who will be doing a bit of interactive theatre to entertain the crowds, along with the local youth band who will be performing Christmas carols to get you in the festive spirit! A brilliant couple of hours out for the whole family!
