half term events in Cheddar

Cheddar Woods is in the heart of the Somerset countryside, with a plethora of activities this October Half Term. Somerset is full of fun, history and spooky happenings ready to be explored during the Halloween Half Term, with something for all ages to enjoy this fangtastic time of year!


spookley pumpkin festival at Farrington’s Farm Shop

When: 15th – 30th Oct. Time: 10am – 4pm. Prices: £2.50

All the children get to pick their own pumpkins from the Farrington’s own pumpkin patch, and listen to the storey of Spookley the square pumpkin, while carving your very own Spookley! There will be pumpkin rides, decorating and craft activities, a film to relax and watch, along with fun trailer rides! Pumpkin treats, hot food and drinks are available for and extra price.


halloween festival at Longleat

When: 22nd – 30th Oct. Time: 10am – 5pm. Prices: £28.85 (adult) £21.20 (child)

Taking place in Longleat’s main square is a fangtastic Halloween Festival with loads of spooky activities, including following the scarecrow trail, the ghost train, a fun skeleton maze, some great nasty but nice creepy crawlies shows, face painting and a trick or treat trail. Don’t’ forget to visit Dracula’s Bat Cave and visit the spookster himself, as well as creepy ghost tours of the historic Longleat house. Make sure to don your best fancy dress for a chance to win the scariest costume competition, and enjoy the end of the night with the fun firework shows.


halloween at Dunster Castle

When: 22nd – 28th Oct. Time: 10am – 4pm. Prices: £4 (adult) £2 (child)

During the day Dunster Castle is having lots of Halloween events for the whole family, including a spooky pumpkin trail in the garden and creepy critter experiences. But after dark is when the spooky Halloween fun begins with the night time Ghost Tours, starting at 6pm and finishing around 11pm there are plenty of tours to scare yourself silly on. Join in on a candle lit tour of on the most haunted parts of the castle and see it like you never have before, listen to the scary stories as your guide is telling you of tales of apparitions and ghosts, also try their self-guided tour of the gardens, where you don’t know what’s around the corner…


unfairground at Weston’s Grand Pier

When: 27th – 29th Oct. Time: 6.30pm Start. Prices: £10

This live action scare fest is for the over 16s only and definitely not for the faint hearted, do you dare to see what lurks in the darkness out at sea? Enjoy a frightfully fantastic night of live scare zones to scare you silly, with access to unlimited rides, a fun ghost train as well as Captain Jack’s bar being open and serving creepy cocktails, including the famous witches brew, while the Deadly DJ is entertaining you with fabulous music. Fancy dress is completely encouraged and recommended at this scare-the-pants-off you carnival after dark…
