Bournemouth’s Wheel Festival
Where: Bournemouth town centre
When: 3rd – 5th June
Only a 40 minute drive from Swanage Bay View, Bournemouth is a beautiful seaside town, and the Wheel Festival is now in it’s third year! With plenty of stalls and family activities on offer there will be something everyone. Adrenaline junkies will love the non-stop, high speed action along the demo straight, or scream and cheer at the Monster Metal Crushing! With gravity defying quadbike jumps, as well as BMX and skateboard tricks – these guys and gals will have your heart jumping to your throat with their tricks and talents!
Feast on the Beach
Where: Studland Beach
When: 27th May & 3rd June
A regular event on Studland Beach, and a popular one so make sure you book when you can! This beachside dining gives you the chance to eat by an outdoor wood fire oven with breathtaking views overlooking the bay. With a different theme each week it will be fabulous family fun and you also have the opportunity to a 30 minute powerboat ride before you eat (you probably wouldn’t want it after…)
The Tutankhamun Exhibition
Where: The Dorchester Museum

The legend of Tutankhamun is known to almost everyone, the ‘Curse of the Pharoh’ is known far and wide; anyone who disturbs the boy King’s final resting place will be faced with a terrible curse, but don’t worry, it’s really just a myth! Experience the magical magnificence and wonder of one of the worlds greatest discoveries! Explore the chamber filled with treasures, including the golden throne and beautiful sentinel figures of King Tut. Tread carefully as you enter the burial chamber and witness Howard Carter raising the golden coffins, before coming face to face with the boy King’s mummified body. A truly fascinating day out!
Durlston Country Park National Nature Reserve

There are lots of events going on at Durlston Country Park this half term so make sure to check their website to see everything that’s on. Make sure to get up and have fun outdoors with the Young Rangers, get involved with crafts, activities and games! Enjoy the ‘Space for Nature’ family day and join artist Rolf Williams to find out how migrating wildlife is being tracked from space. Also ‘Meet a Moth’ and discover these fascinating creatures of the night, learn about our fuzzy friends at the ‘Brilliant Bees’ workshop and much more for a fun family day!
