Cheddar Woods Resort & Spa is in the heart of Somerset, offering fantastic walking adventures in the countryside, five star facilities and fun family local attractions to visit! With a full Go Active+ programme, plus an indoor entertainment area, you won’t need to leave the park to have a fun filled half term, but if you do choose to venture out into the local area, I have found the family fun things to do in Cheddar this half term!

the love walk

Where: Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm
When: 11th – 25th Feb

This is a fun guided walk with a special animal experience thrown in, the perfect family fun time or a couples’ escape to the zoo. The animal experience includes a feeding experience with one of the famous animal couples in the zoo, the free guided walk meets outside the food barn courtyard daily at 2pm, and you’ll discover the true love, rivalry and interesting animal facts of the many zoo couples, such as does Tara the snoring Tapir keep Toby up all night? Or has Gerald the Giraffe really had enough of Genevieve? There is also Love Craft Family Workshops to try out too, where you make a cool paper animal face from love hearts that you can take home, as well as face painting and a special ‘Selfie Spot’ with a heart shaped picture frame for that perfect selfie!

half term at Brean Play

Kicking off with a school disco, half term at Brean Play is filled with fun activities including circus skills where you will learn how to spin plates and juggle, as well as a teddy bears picnic and join Eddy the giant teddy for play, fun, games and a picnic! You’ll be amazed by the brand new science show, and enjoy the storytelling Sunday, where you can dress up as your favourite book character and listen to stories throughout the day. Lots of cool activities going on this half term at Brean Play!

Don’t forget to visit the brand new Dragon’s Lair, where legend says in 12th Century, Somerset was terrorised by a frightful dragon that had a taste for milkmaids. Bishop Jocelyn bravely ventured out to kill the dragon, after the battle as it drew it’s dying breath cursed the villagers that if they ever forgot about him, he would return every 50 years to the village of Wells. So let your imagination run wild and cross the drawbridge, pick up an ancient site map and use your wits to lead you through the gardens to the Dragon’s Lair, interactive discovery area!
