North Wales is steeped in history, with endless spooky stories and creepy castles to visit, the region offers a full programme of events this Halloween…

But this Halloween, North Wales has a plethora of activities to explore, here is our ultimate list of what’s on in North Wales for Halloween 2017…


The Halloween Hullabaloo

Where: Prestatyn High Street / When: 28th Oct / Times: 11am – 5pm / Free

Visit Prestatyn High Street over Halloween weekend for a fun family day, filled with craft and produce stalls, where you can purchase locally made jam and homemade gifts, as well as fair ground games and children’s rides to enjoy. There will also be live entertainment from local bands throughout the day too. Don’t forget to visit the shopping park for some retail therapy!


Halloween Horror Maze

Where: Llanddulas Village Hall / When: 30th Oct – 1st Nov / Times: 3pm – 11pm / Prices: Adults £5, Child £2

You will some frighteningly good fun at the horror maze for Halloween 2017 set to theme of Molly’s house. Take a stroll through Molly’s house and turn back the time to 1870’s as you creep around the corners and explore the maze, but beware of the spooks and spectres around every corner!


The Rook Wood Mystery

Where: Penrhyn Castle / When: 21st – 31st Oct / Times: 10:30am – 4pm / Prices: Adult £13, Child £6.50

The Rooks have moved into the stunning Penrhyn Castle, there will be lots of family activities to get stuck in to, including a mystery trail for all ages to explore, you can then take a look at what’s cooking in the Victorian Kitchens. There will also be fun face painting as well as fantastic shadow stories and craft workshops to enjoy. You can also take the little ones to the ten minute terror tales storytelling workshops and you’ll find out why the Rooks have left the woods, was there something sinister afoot?


Halloween Spooktacular Half Term

Where: Greenwood Forest Park / When: 21st Oct – 4th Nov / Times: 10am – 5:30pm / Prices: Adult £12.95, Child £12.60

This award-winning eco adventure park will be teeming with family fun to be had this Halloween! Take part in some creepy crafts, including lantern making, creating a spooky or monstrous mask, or become your favourite spook with some fabulous face painting and you’ll even get the chance to create your own Harry Potter style broomstick! Make sure to keep your eyes peeled for witches, wizards and other spooky characters in the magical woods. If your little one loves fancy dress, now is the time to visit Greenwood, as every little’un will receive a free hot chocolate when in fancy dress! There will also be a fangtastic Halloween show on 31st Oct.


Spooky Spectacular

Where: SeaQuarium, Rhyl / When: 21st Oct – 5th Nov / Times: 10am – 5pm / Prices: Adult £9.50, Child £8.50

This Halloween the SeaQuarium will be filled with witches, ghosts and offering eerie tales to all who enter. Jasper the Jellyfish need your help, you need to help find his friends who are all under a spooky spell, so if you follow the trail of clues around the building you can win a prize and a fantastic spooky badge! You can visit after dark during the Torchlight Tours from 27th – 31st October, learn all about the darker side of the aquarium, the tours must be pre-booked and start at 5pm for the family fun event. If you’re looking for the extra spooky event, you’ll need to book the 6:30pm – 8pm tour. During the night time tour you’ll enjoy a fascinating pool talk, a night time harbour seal deed, trick or treat goody bag, traditional Halloween games and a face your feat event where you can come face to face with a range of creepy critters.


Spooky Halloween Day

Where: Beaumaris Castle / When: 28th Oct / Times: 11am – 4pm / Prices: Adult £6.50, Child £4.20

Enjoy a day of family fun, thrills and chills at the Halloween trail day. You can take a spook tour around the castle walls where you will find all the answers to the clues on the trail, once you’ve completed the trail you can win a prize and make sure to keep an eye out for the castle witch on your journey. There will also be lots of spooky crafts to get stuck in on, including classic pumpkin carving and scary mask making.


Halloween Murder Mystery Monster’s Ball

Where: Bodnant Welsh Food / When: 20th Oct / Times: 6.30pm 9.30pm / Prices: £40 per person

This is a return of a hugely popular event in North Wales, by the Play Fitted theatre Company. Halloween is a time for tricks and treats, as well as the night that Edwin Puck, serial killer, plans to add a name to his growing list of victims! Will the ghosts of his past finally catch up with him? Join in on this fantastically frightening event, which takes place in a 1930’s style speak-easy, you’ll enjoy a delicious 3 course meal and mood-setting music from club singer ‘Dusty Bones’. Make sure to book your ticket and have a blast at this murder mystery monster ball.


Shriek Week

Where: Welsh Mountain Zoo / When: 20th Oct – 6th Nov / Times: 9.30am – 6pm / Prices: Adult £14.05, Child £ 10.55

Visit the fabulous Welsh Mountain Zoo for Halloween half term in North Wales, where you will learn all about the fantastic creepy crawlies and reptiles in residence and take a stroll through the zoo to meet the cast of characters at the zoo. There will be Halloween crafts for everyone to try their hand at.


Carn-Evil

Where: New Pines & Talacre Beach / When: times & prices vary on park

The entertainments team at Talacre Beach and New Pines Holiday Home Park have put together a fantastic Carn-Evil party for all on park! The events rooms will be completely decorated in a circus style, with the Rangers donning creeptastic make up and outfits, with Charlie Bear making an appearance too! If you’re on park this Halloween make sure to buy your ticket from reception, or ask a member of the entertainments team for more information!
