Head to the biggest party in town! The Swanage Blues Festival 2017 is set in and around the Dorset seaside town, it takes place twice a year and is one of the most popular events in the county’s community calendar.
Taking over the entire town from October 5th to October 8th 2017 , the four-day event will mark the 28th festival to be held in the beautiful coastal location of Swanage.
Known as one of the must see festivals in Dorset, the Swanage Blues Festival first started in March 2001 after preparations for a birthday party rapidly escalated and the rest of the town’s pubs and restaurants wanted to get involved! The October festival was then later added in 2007.
Promising only the best of the blues, the October festival will host 60 great gigs from 40 amazing acts across 16 indoor venues.
A wide range of venues, restaurants and bars in Swanage have got involved with this fantastic event to celebrate blues music in its entirety, including our very own Swanage Bay View Holiday Home Park which is just a 20 minute walk from the town centre.
You can catch an eclectic mix of UK blues acts throughout the four days some of which include Zoe Schwarz Blue Commotion, Riverside Blues Band, The Milk Men and The Blues Issues all offering a taste of the blues.
And if you’re staying with us at our Swanage Bay View Holiday Home Park then you can enjoy the live music from the comfort of the park from Friday to Sunday when a range of acts will take to the stage in the park itself. Starting off the blues extravaganza will be Andy Twyman taking to the stage at 8pm.
A full line up of entertainment is then planned for the Saturday starting with Robin Bibi Blues Jam! At 12.30pm and finishing with The Great West Groove ‘Blues Dance Session’ featuring Terry Marshall at 9.45pm. Sunday offers another jam-packed afternoon of live music starting with Tiny Tina Turner at 2pm and closing with Blues Business at 5pm.
