The rolling hills, the sandy beaches and historic castles are all waiting for you to explore them this August Bank Holiday along the North Wales Coastline!

With a choice of four locations along the North Wales coast, Darwin Escapes has you covered for a fun filled August Bank Holiday weekend! Try our traditional family friendly parks Talacre Beach or New Pines Holiday Home Parks, which will have its own Charlie Bear fun days on over the weekend. Or if you are a lucky owner at either of our Seaview or Aberconwy locations you can escape to peace and tranquillity after your bank holiday explorations!


SeaQuarium Pirate’s Month

SeaQuarium in Rhyl has fishes galore to marvel at, along with the friendly and adorable harbour sea lions to give you a good show on your visit. August is a month of ruckus, hoots and hollas with fantastic tales of the sea with the SeaQarium taken over by a band of Pirates! Join in with the fun activities, including flag making with the Pirate Captain, colouring competitions, special historical talks and even a treasure trail! Family fun in Rhyl this August Bank Holiday!


Beaumaris Castle: Dare to Meet the Dragon

Beaumaris Castle is steeped in Welsh history, with cracking proportions and perfect symmetry, this castle was the last hurrah of King Edward I’s massive building programme in North Wales. With it’s signature ‘walls within walls’ feature, which was a 13th Century high-tech equivalent of a spaceship landing in your back garden today, it is a fantastic place to explore. Dare to meet the fantastic dragon on the green, even stand within his claw for a great photo op of being captured by this mythical creature!


Ruddland Castle: Roald Dhal Event

Ruddland Castle was named so by King Edward I in 1277 and is known as his location to own such a mighty scary castle, the Castle itself have played a seminal role in Welsh history, being the place were a new system of English government was established over Wales 1284. Walk around the grounds and explore the castle, and on Wednesday afternoons you can sit and listen to the classic Roald Dhal stories in the magical surroundings. Also from the 27th August the Dare to Meet the Dragon exhibition is here too.

With the Rhyl town Air Show also on this August Bank Holiday Weekend in North Wales there are an abundance of adventures to be had along the coast! The Air Show is a hit every year, bring thousands of people to the seaside to marvel at the new and old cars and aircraft, while watching the Red Arrows fly over head in the sunshine!
