Spending Christmas in North Wales? Here are a few events to get you in the jolly Christmas mood! We have four unique and beautiful resorts along the North Wales coast line, from our traditional holiday parks of Talacre Beach and New Pines to owners-exclusive resorts of Aberconwy and Seaview Holiday Home Parks.

They all offer something different to our owners and holiday makers, and all are open over Christmas. The scenery of North Wales is stunning whatever the time of year and in winter you’ll discover hauntingly beautiful bare trees on the woodland walks, to the glorious prom and beaches on offer. All our resorts are closely situated to a range of Christmas Markets, from the lovely Llandudno town centre and Wrexham’s Victorian Christmas to the famous Chester Christmas Markets. There will something to get everyone in the White Christmas spirits!

Llandudno christmas markets

The seaside town of Llandudno has a lot to offer all year round, from charming boutique-style stores to the big high street names – a shopper’s dream. The prom, lined with hotel and store fronts, is perfect for a fabulous stroll surrounded by breathtaking scenery, and on a clear day you can see out to Puffin Island. Treat yourself and grab a world renowned show at Venue Cymru, with everything from Dirty Dancing and the Jersey Boys to McFly and Frank Turner having all graced the stage. At Christmas the town turns into a wonderland, Lewis Carroll did write Alice in Wonderland based on the seaside town after all. The Christmas Markets have attracted over 30,000 people over the four years that it has been running, with handmade and unusual gifts and crafts, beautifully crafted jewellery, handbags, accessories, hats and scarves to keep toasty and warm in. There is even a company called Diamond Dogz who make organic doggy treats, let’s not forget the pets this Christmas! (Hugo will be getting one I’m sure…) Photographers will be showcasing their work, along side some very talented painters. There will be craft demonstrations, with the Bodnant Craft Centre sharing their artisan crafts, all along with Santa’s very own grotto! There is something for all ages and tastes at this lovely Christmas event.

victorian christmas markets

Wrexham is a lovely town that is surrounded by Welsh history, with plenty of shops in its town centre, bakeries and quaint chic shops, there will be something for everyone here. This year the town will be taking on a Victorian feel for the Christmas Market, with over 70 stalls in attendance the Market will take place on Church Street and even in the church itself for added festive spirit! Stalls will have a wide range of handmade gifts and crafts, from toys, candles, clothing, jewellery, handbags, books and, of course, Christmas decorations. Food will also be on offer, enjoy pies, turkey, goose, cakes, brownies and fresh from the griddle Welshcakes! (I love Welshcakes!) Try some local cheese, beer and cider, have some festive mulled wine, hot chocolate, mince pies and delicious hot roasted chestnuts. Soak up the atmosphere with the music and carols all down the street. A great step back in history and a chance to find a treasure of a gift within the stalls.

Chester christmas markets

The city of Chester has an olde worlde, upper-class feel to it as you wander around the shops, stop in the restaurants and eat the organic produce on offer. The Christmas Markets are no exception to this, taking place outside the stunning library, town hall and the outstanding Cathedral, you will step back in time in the gorgeous surroundings. With over 70 traditional wooden chalets, all wrapped around the stunning Chester Christmas Tree, you will find something for everyone here. There will be quality local and regional products, from crafts, clothing, accessories to jewellery, unique handmade gifts and plenty of great stocking fillers. Hot food and drinks will be on offer to warm your belly, from hot chocolate to the classic mince pies and mulled wine. There is also a children’s craft area to entertain them, along with a special post box for Santa’s letter, who may even make an appearance! A great couple of hours out to find that special gift, or to just try the mince pies and mulled wine – that’s all we ever want really isn’t it!
