Axminster dates as far back as 300 BC, this town is steeped in history and the buildings around show it, it is a stunning place to visit with the Parish Church and quaint streets reminding me of a scene from Harry Potter – no ghosts though, so don’t worry. In the square you’ll find the Christmas tree and there’ll be a wide range of stalls where you can find handmade gifts and crafts, from glassware to clothing, there will be something for that hard-to-buy-for person in your life. Santa will also be making a special appearance, keep your mince pies close or he will eat them all! Enjoy some festive mulled wine and carols, this is sure to cheer up the biggest Scrooge.
Lyme Regis is famous for its stunning harbour and blue cliffs, that hide millions-of-years-old fossils. With so much history hidden away in the cliffs, a beautiful town and harbour, Christmas will be as picturesque as they come. The annual Christmas Market has traditional crafts, handmade jewellery, ironwork, ceramics and woodwork on offer, all by local craftsmen and women. The perfect chance to find an unusual and unique Christmas gift, enjoy the mince pies, cakes, pies and pasties and indulge in a delicious festive drink, all taking place in the charming Town Hall.
